Project 13 is an initiative of the Sorority designed to demonstrate our united power of service and our commitment to lead, serve and empower our communities. The Project 13 Subcommittee has put tremendous effort into working with 13 dynamic organizations to develop partnerships that chapters can support and significantly impact during this sorority year.
The Strategic Partnerships Task Force has been charged to extend our hand of partnership to organizations that have synergy with Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated and are aligned with our mission to be engaged in public service, the core pillar upon which our organization was founded in 1913.
In an effort to ensure a successful launch of Project 13 sorority-wide, chapters are encouraged to determine which programs they want to adopt during this sorority year. To be recognized as a Project 13 Chapter, each chapter must adopt and implement at least two (2) Project 13 programs.
For the 2015-2016 sorority year Brooklyn Alumnae Chapter has decided to adopt the American Diabetes Association and the NAACP.
Some of Project 13's past programs/activities include:
- Diabetes Community Alert Day
- Big Apple Classic Basketball Tournament
