10/20/18: New York Cares Day for Schools

This year Brooklyn Alumnae Chapter (BAC) will be volunteering with New York Cares for their annual Fall Cares Day event on Saturday, October 20, 2018 from 9:30am-2pm.

Brooklyn Alumnae Chapter will be volunteering at IS 484K - Ronald Edmonds Learning Center II located at 430 Howard Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11233. On the #CaresDay, BAC, along with volunteers from several other teams, will perform a variety of indoor and/or outdoor beautification tasks such as cleaning, planting, painting, installation of erosion control measures, removal of invasive plant species, sorting, organizing, etc.

There are still a few remaining volunteer spots available. If you are interested in volunteering for the service project and/or making a financial donation toward our fundraising goal, please do so using the button to the right. Please note that the deadline to register as a volunteer is Friday, October 12, 2018. New York Cares cannot guarantee that volunteers will be able to register onsite the day of the event.  If you are interested, please register as soon as possible.

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is a private, non-profit organization whose purpose is to provide assistance and support through established programs in local communities throughout the world. Members of the sorority are committed to public service with a primary focus on the Black community. Chartered in 1949, over the past 68 years the Brooklyn Alumnae Chapter has partnered on and/or organized programs to enhance the educational and cultural life and needs of the residents in the Brooklyn Community.

Brooklyn Alumnae Chapter supports the efforts and initiatives of New York Cares in improving education and revitalizing schools in New York City and making a lasting impact on the students of the New York City public schools. New York Cares runs year-round education programs in public schools to improve the educational outcomes for thousands of students. Brooklyn Alumnae Chapter is raising money to support these causes and to make a lasting impact on education.
