The Politics of Black Hair – Tackling discrimination, policy, and the journey to protect our crowns. The Health of Black Hair – Centering wellness, carcinogens in products, and the importance of hair health. The Business of Black Hair – Showcasing entrepreneurs and the billion-dollar Black hair economy.
🌟 Special Guest: Tremaine Wright NY State official and proud Delta woman, Tremaine will lead a powerful fireside chat on sponsoring the CROWN Act in New York, the legislative battles to get it passed, and how current DEI efforts impact Black women in corporate and community spaces.
🌟 Lisa Price, Founder of Carol’s Daughter From kitchen chemist to global icon, Lisa built Carol’s Daughter into a household name. After selling to L’Oréal in 2014, she reacquired her brand in 2025, reclaiming its vision and leadership. She joins us to share her full-circle journey in Black entrepreneurship and ownership.
🌟 Simone Mair, Co-founder of CURLFEST As Operations Director of CURLFEST and founding member of Curly Girl Collective, Simone has helped build the largest natural beauty festival in the country. She brings expertise in brand-building, event production, and celebrating Black beauty on a global scale.
🎨 Visual Artist Spotlight: Soror Nachae Davis Born and raised in Harlem, Soror Nachae Davis is a multidisciplinary artist and fashion designer whose work honors Black womanhood through powerful visual storytelling. Her series, ‘Onyx Linea’ (“Black Lines”), explores the connection between hair and identity in Black women’s lives. Created during a transformative period in her own journey, this collection is a striking reflection of personal and ancestral reclamation.
